Beyond the Build: AP's Commitment to Community Impact

At Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP), we believe our impact extends far beyond the buildings we construct. Our dedication to community service is a tangible demonstration of our “We Care” values in action. As we reflect on our engagement efforts heading into the holiday season, we’re proud to share the remarkable impact our team has made in the communities where we live and work from September 2023 to September 2024.

A Year of Impactful Initiatives

Over the past year, AP has organized 28 events across all our regions, each aligned with our commitment to giving back to our communities. These events ranged from meal packing for local food banks to environmental conservation activities, showcasing the diverse ways we strive to make a difference.

Our efforts have yielded impressive results:

  • More than 318 AP team members volunteered their time and skills
  • We raised $199,728.25 for participating organizations
  • Over 12,700 items were donated, including meals packed, blankets made, and other essential goods

These numbers tell a story of dedication, compassion, and the power of collective action. But the true impact goes beyond statistics—it’s about the lives we’ve touched and the communities we’ve strengthened as a team.

Making a Difference

Our community service spans across all our regions, each contributing uniquely to our overall impact:

  1. Business Services & Midwest: Our Business Services and Midwest teams organized 12 events, packing thousands of meals for food banks, crafting blankets for those facing homelessness, and supporting environmental conservation.
  2. Mountain States: Focusing on food security and public gardens, this region organized eight events providing immediate relief to those in need and fostering sustainable local food growth.
  3. Gulf States: With five events centered on fundraising and holiday drives, this region showcased how targeted events can make a significant impact during crucial times.
  4. Southwest: Through three impactful events, our Southwest team organized donation drives that provided essential and immediate support to those in need.

A Holistic Approach to Community Support

While our volunteerism forms the backbone of our community engagement, we’ve also made significant strides in other areas:

  • Fundraising: We raised nearly $200,000 to support various public programs and provide direct aid to organizations in need.
  • In-Kind Donations: From 12,196 meals packed for food banks to 437 milkweed seed sticks for environmental conservation, our in-kind contributions addressed a wide range of needs.
  • Blood Donations: 43 people donated blood through a mobile blood bank, potentially saving numerous lives.

The AP Difference: We Care in Action

Our impact initiatives are a direct reflection of AP’s “We Care” values. By actively engaging in these service opportunities, we’re not just building structures—we’re building stronger, more vibrant communities. Our team members don’t just work in these communities; they live here, raise their families here, and are deeply invested in seeing their neighborhoods thrive.

“At AP, we believe our impact extends far beyond the buildings we construct,” says Jeff Hansen, CEO of AP. “Our commitment to community service drives our actions and impact.”

Looking Ahead: Building on Our Foundation

As we move forward, we’re dedicated to growing our initiatives and creating even greater impact in the communities where we live and work. This year’s impact marks the beginning of tracking and measuring our community engagement annually, ensuring we continue to make meaningful contributions where they’re needed most.

At AP, we understand true success is measured not just in projects completed or profits earned, but in the positive change we bring to our communities. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished this year, and we’re excited about the opportunities that lie ahead to continue making a difference.

Together, we’re not just building structures—we’re building hope, fostering community, and creating a brighter future for all. That’s the AP way, and that’s how we’ll continue to go beyond the build, making a lasting impact in the communities we’re privileged to serve.
